Many fathers of the bride can feel left out in the runup to their daughter’s wedding. Sure, they have some big jobs to do on the day. After all, they will be busy giving you away and giving their speech at the reception. But I’m sure your Dad will also want to get stuck into the planning and organization of your big day! So are you looking for some tasks and jobs he can do to help you sort out your wedding? Here are some ideas to get you started!
Contact Reception Venues
When you are in the early stages of planning your wedding, you will need to find out which venues can accommodate your reception. Once you have figured out your budget, you will need to ring around a few different places to get an idea of their price range. You will have a lot on your plate, and all of these phone calls can eat into your time. I’m sure your Dad will love to do this for you! Make sure he knows what your budget is for a reception venue and ask him if he would mind calling each venue to find out if they can do something for your price.
Pick Up Your Flowers
You will be very busy the day before your wedding. In fact, you are probably going to be rushed off your feet! You will need to have a practice run with the hairdresser and makeup artist. And you will also have to make sure all the finishing touches are being applied to your big day. One of these big touches are all your flowers and the bridal bouquet. One thing is for sure; you won’t have time to pick up all the flowers. But I’m sure your father will be able to! You can discover beautiful bouquets, order them, and then get the father of the bride to pick them up!
Book The Evening Entertainment
All good weddings have an evening party. Most couples like to book a DJ or a live band to entertain all their guests. If your Dad is still looking for a way to get involved with all the planning, you could ask him to research entertainment options. Make sure that he knows what kind of music you and your groom both like. That way, he will be able to find entertainment that suits your tastes. Once he has shortlisted some of the entertainment options, you can go through and choose your favorite.
Help His Son-In-Law Find A Suit
Most brides panic that their groom won’t find a smart suit. This is especially a big worry if their partner doesn’t have much fashion sense! But your father can help out with this. He can join his son-in-law and the best man shopping for the wedding suits. He will be able to offer them his opinions and make sure that they buy something suitable for a sophisticated wedding!
Give your Dad these jobs, and he won’t feel so left out in the run-up to the wedding!
