Steph and Alexander’s Rustic New York Wedding

Steph and Alex celebrated their love with rustic New York wedding at a farm owned by Alex’s friend in upstate New York, close to where the groom grew up. It was the perfect place for this couple to celebrate with 250 of their family and friends. The bride and groom met during a volunteer work event hosted by the NYC parks department.

When asked about the inspiration behind their special day, the bride said: “The theme was jungle disco. We just wanted to have fun! Guests were encouraged to wear sequins and sparkles. I had a full PowerPoint presentation with mood boards, color palette, etc. We chose the location because it was meaningful to Alex’s upbringing, gave us a lot of freedom and flexibility, and allowed us to have the party outdoors. We aren’t religious, so our ceremony was short. My uncle was our officiant.”The bride looked stunning in her gown. The venue for their rustic New York wedding seemed to absolutely fit this fun-loving couple. From the bride: “Flowers were the only design element involved in the wedding! They were soft, pale, and wispy flowers with pops of dark blue and black. The ceremony background was a bit thrown together. At the last minute, our cater covered a ladder with a table cloth and the florist hung flowers. It was really beautiful and you couldn’t tell what was really going on.”
