From the bride: I included white rustic lanterns and birdcages, galvanized milk jugs, buckets, and tins. We also had chalkboard signs, one of which was a steal at a local thrift store. I needed a very large area for table assignments since our guest count was right around 150. I found a large farmhouse window for only $10! I touched up the antique white frame with paint, leaving the “distressed” look, then I spray painted the window of the glass with chalkboard paint and wrote the guest names and their table assignment in chalk. Another interesting wedding decoration was our large wedding wreath. Our wreath has been a traditional wedding ornament dating back to when it was first featured for my husband’s great grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary in 1982. The wreath has now been a part of 5 anniversary celebrations and 4 weddings. The wreath is made of an assortment of West Virginia natural foliage such as magnolia leaves and buds, pinecones, and hydrangeas. My husband’s family “spruced up” the wreath to include our wedding colors and lots of lavender.
