Jenni & Matthew’s Vintage Estate Wedding

Classic decor created a romantic ambiance for Jenni & Matthew’s vintage estate wedding in Port Orange, Florida last summer.

From the bride: My theme for the wedding was “casual romantic.” I wanted the ceremony and reception to have a beautiful, classic, vintage feel while still being very laid back and comfortable. I wanted to make sure guests knew that could dress as casually or formal as they wanted! It was the end of June in Florida so I wanted guests to feel comfortable in any attire. I chose blush, rose, ivory, and golds as the color palette to achieve a classic romantic look. We kept our decor as simple as possible. We chose to have the ceremony outside by the riverfront surrounded by palm trees. The setting was already gorgeous enough and I wanted the natural beauty of the scenery to be the main focal point. All we added for the ceremony was an arch decorated with flowers in our color palette and some shepherd hooks with gold vases and flowers to the aisle. For the reception, my mom had the great idea of printing out pictures of family wedding photos and framing them to put up on the fireplace mantles.

How he asked: When Matt found out we were moving to Charleston, he started planning out places around the city for the perfect proposal. He first decided on a beautiful historical gazebo in the Battery area of downtown Charleston. We went downtown to “take a walk” and I found out later his plans to propose that night were ruined by all of the kids and teenagers playing “Pokemon Go” in the gazebo! After that night, he set his sights on a small, private waterfront park called “Sunrise Park” in Charleston. It was the PERFECT place for us. He set up a small selfie stick and acted like we were taking some selfies by the water. A moment later, he got down on one knee and proposed! I found out he had actually been recording the whole thing with the selfie stick:-)  I love having the proposal on video so that I can watch that special moment again and again.
