The Hotel Concord Wedding: Rachel + Michael met when Michael and their band, New Local Band, were looking for a new lead singer. You can guess what happened from there! And there is no way they were celebrating the biggest day in their lives without playing together with the rest of their band.
The Hotel Concord in NC was the perfect venue for channeling the elegant and simplistic style they were going for. They kept the decor neutral with beautiful white flowers and greenery, as well as candles and lighting bringing in a soft glow. They also incorporated giant marquee letters spelling out LOVE, set up just like the Philadelphia love sign since that’s Rachel’s hometown!
Every part of the day was so thought out and intentional, from the card box made from one of Mike’s drums to the concert tickets printed for each of the guests and record player guest book.
You could definitely tell that these two are passionate about music. When we asked Rachel about the inspiration behind the day, she called it “The wedding that ROCKED!”
Rachel was her own wedding singer and Mike kept the beat going on the drums during their amazing reception. It was such a blast seeing them perform together as husband and wife, and there was so much energy in the room as the guests sang and danced along.
Rachel describes one of their favorite parts of the night, the “grand finale” of the reception.
“We both have a lot of family and friends that are musicians so we planned a song where everyone could get up and sing/play on the final song. It was all organized by email so the amount of talent in that room was amazing that it went off without a hitch.
During the middle of the song Mike switched with someone on drums and we went out front and dance and danced on the stage surrounded by all of our favorite people and our family and friends singing and playing. It was unbelievable!!!”
It was such an honor to get to capture Rachel and Michael’s special day and we wish them the best!
