Katie & Brandon’s chic lake house wedding took place on a summer day in Evergreen, Colorado.
How they met: Katie and Brandon first met in high school, when Brandon was 18 and she was 17. He won Homecoming King and owed her a dance he had to pay up on. Their first date was a week later. After six years together, they took four years apart, growing and maturing into the people they are today (and Brandon’s time in the Marine Corps). They ran into one another again 3 years ago.
How he asked: Brandon popped the question on October 4, 2015 in Ames, the town they live in. He took Katie and their two dogs out for a walk around Lake Laverne on Iowa State’s campus and got down on one knee after they’d walked around half the lake. Their first date was October 4, 2003–12 years to the day later, he proposed.
